Audio Engineering
I became interested in audio engineering and production in college, studying under the late Sam Pellman, a pioneer of electronic music composition. After my undergrad, I went off to AZ to the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences and completed their intensive program and internship requirements. The internship portion included working on the audio crew for a bunch of major act live concerts in and around Phoenix, as well as 4 months in the studio with Dave Mustaine and Megadeth remixing their Capital Records catalog and recording The System Has Failed (2004). After CRAS, I helped a company called Hyburn, who owned the patent for the business model of recording a live concert to CD and having it for sale almost immediately at the venue, to develop all of their live mixing and mobile disc burning units. Soon after that, I moved to NC to start Mixed Jam Recording, a mobile ProTools based recording studio which was catered towards multitrack recording of live concerts with later mixing and mastering for live releases. Around 2006, I moved back home to upstate NY where I continued Mixed Jam for a few years. That has since morphed into Espe Audio Services.
Here is a mostly complete list of some of the projects I've worked on and artists I've worked with:
